World Landmarks Light Up Teal to brings awareness to the most excruciating pain to humankind
October 7th 2016 marks the 4th International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day, an annual campaign to Light Up Teal that increases awareness, while providing education and funding for research.
#TrigeminalNeuralgia
The definition of Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is that it is a very painful disorder of the portion of the fifth cranial nerve (trigeminal nerve) that supplies sensation to the face. It is characterized by recurrent electric shock-like (paroxysmal) pains in one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve (maxillary, mandibular, and/or ophthalmic branches), each supplying a different portion of the face. Severe facial pain can last from a second to 15 minutes or longer; some individuals may have up to 100 lightning-like bursts of stabbing pain in a day. #Research4ACure
We turn to The Facial Pain Research Foundation, which aims to turn a page in history by finding a cure for the world’s most excruciating pain. Its Founders purpose is to reach this goal within the decade of 2011-2020. You can help by making a tax deductible donation right now to the Facial Pain Research Foundation, entirely made up of volunteers, so every dollar goes to research for saliva kits, DNA extractions, Phenotyping and genotyping cost. For information on research and donations follow this link to The Facial Pain Research Foundation
#LightUpTeal
The Facial Pain Research Foundation, Members of TNnME, Sufferers and Supporters of Trigeminal Neuralgia and Facial Disorders give thanks and gratitude to all participating in the 4th International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day on October 7th.
Over 100 World monuments, buildings and bridges will “Light Up Teal” in support of Trigeminal Neuralgia and all facial pain disorders. For list of participates please follow this link: 2016 Light Up Teal for TN
