Living in the Moment with Trigeminal Neuralgia
Just trying to be me in this new Moment
In the beginning of this journey it was very emotional and physical draining, but with the support of my husband, his strength, his words of encouragement and his belief in me, I am able to manage my illness. My illness does not manage me, meaning that I won't just live for this pain. I've accepted that this chronic pain is in me but I won't accept that it will lead my life.
I know this is difficult for many of you, but you have to find that inner peace and happiness. I wanted a place to vent but in a funny positive way.
There will be a sense of pain, laughter and inspiration. This is my way of dealing with Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Please forgive me if my grammar or spelling is not up to par but as I type for the most part of the time I will be experiencing spasm, numbness of the face and facial twitching.
Living with Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) and Cluster Headaches (CH) I've learned to eliminate unnecessary stress.
When your head feels like somebody is stabbing you in the ear with a ice pick at the same time you are having electrical shocks that zaps your brain, you have no choice but to live in the present moment.
Your whole life situations change. You have intimate prayers and conversations with God. Your priorities are different. The day to day stresses are not that serious anymore. Getting through the first year of finding out what triggers your Trigeminal Neuralgia and Cluster Headaches so you can live around those moments without living in fear is a must.
I thank God for my positive spirit. So here I am writing what is positive to me....no thoughts (I'll explain that further down the road) and good books, interior decorating, organizing.
Women have many layers to their life and with those layers we have a tendency to be everything to everybody except for ourselves.
Living with Trigeminal Neuralgia and Cluster Headaches I had to learn to take care of myself first.
Live one moment at a time.
