Susan Wiffill Story
I had 2 teeth lower jaw extracted in 1995...was ok at first, then the stitches dissolved. They also had to take some jaw bone, it was infected.
After a little while, notice the pain seemed to always be there. My face would be pale, bottom lip swelled up, still have little thread veins from swelling.
Pain clinic prescribed carbamazepine which worked, but had allergic reaction to them, so they try me with another, which was strange. When I would fall asleep, kept jumping awake, was horrible.
Then they wanted to try another epilepsy drug to block nerve pain. Talk to my Dr., who said, its bit scary isn’t it...meaning pain clinic wanted me to try another drug and antidepressant to stop nerve pain.
So just soldiered on with antidepressants and sedative, muscle relaxant. One day a friend of a neighbor popped by, was a pain day. The look on her face said it all. I knew I looked ill, grey, washed out. So just say, getting over the flu. She seemed concerned, say, look after yourself.
So the pain shows on my face. Get good days, bad days. And if pain does get bad, I will be at pain clinic saying, just give me anything to stop pain. What surprised me when I have been pain clinic, is that there are quite a few people there. Maybe for different types of other pains.
So yes, it is difficult life, but try to carry on for my grandchildren and daughters.
